News

December 3, 2018:

At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning we received a bomb threat via email sent by an unknown individual.  Law Enforcement officials were notified and took immediate action.  From a preliminary investigation, within minutes it was deemed viable and our school protocols went into effect.  While all Law Enforcement Agencies to include Dixon PD, MSHP, PCSD and the 180th MP Detachment were being notified, our students and staff were evacuated to our predesignated locations within our community.  All appropriate agencies took part in the ongoing investigation to ensure the safety of our students and staff were met.  All alleged suspects were/are in custody and the proper authorities are still conducting their investigations.  We would like to send a special thanks to the 180th MP Detachment for bringing their K9s specialized in explosive devices.  They were able to clear all of our campus facilities, buses and students/staff vehicles. Most of all, we thank the community for trusting your children's lives in our hands and protocols.  We do apologize that we couldn't take phones calls or notify every parent personally, but our students’ safety is our number one priority. Due to this being an ongoing investigation, this is all the information I am able to pass along at this time.

Respectfully,

Duane Doyle

Superintendent
